Fans at the foot
of an oak.
A single cluster can weigh several kilos: dozens of grey-brown, spoon-shaped caps overlapping into something between a feather duster and a cabbage. The fruiting bodies carry beta-glucans and the glucan-protein complexes known in the literature as the D and MD fractions. Ours is the fruiting body only, extracted 10:1, in an HPMC capsule.

- A health claim
⚠ And no claim. Maitake has been studied for about thirty years and holds no authorised health claim in the UK or EU, so none appears here. What we can print is the species, the ratio and the dose — and we do.
The fourth jar
on the shelf.
People arrive at maitake after the obvious three. Ask what they were looking for:
- A named species, for ‘mushroom blend’.
- Fruiting body, for mycelium grown on grain.
- 1,000 mg a day, for 100 mg in a four-mushroom capsule.
- No claim, for a promise the register does not support.
The everyday choice of people who read the panel before they believe the promise.

Thirty years of papers,
zero authorised claims.
Maitake has one of the longer research records in this category — the D fraction has been the subject of published work since the early nineties. None of that has produced an authorised claim, because the bar for one is deliberately high and no dossier has cleared it. A long bibliography and a registered claim are different things, and a brand that shows you the first while implying the second is doing something you should notice.
Two capsules a day with water — 1,000 mg of 10:1 extract. Sixty capsules, thirty days.

“Of course the product is great. But here I value the service. From the quick handling of the order, through the very nice packaging, to the after-sales service, which matters most. You can ask, you can talk. Thank you, and I recommend it!”

The Underrated Three
The three the shelf walks past. Hen of the woods, wood ear and the birch conk — all 10:1, all fruiting body.

Questions, answered.
Nothing. No fungus carries an authorised health claim in the UK or EU. The species has a substantial research record and that is a separate thing from a registered claim — we are not permitted to use the first as if it were the second.
Names given in the literature to particular glucan-protein complexes isolated from Grifola frondosa. They describe compounds found in the mushroom; they are not a dose we standardise to, and we do not claim anything for them.
Maitake itself is a culinary mushroom and dried maitake is used as a seasoning. This is a 10:1 extract rather than the dried mushroom, so it is made for a capsule, not a pan. The powder is the one that goes into food.
Fruiting body, extracted 10:1. No grain in the jar.
Thirty days, at two capsules a day.
Yes. Fungal extract, HPMC shell.
